BOUDA MÁMA WELLNESS HOTEL - WHERE BEER IS BREWED, LIFE IS GOOD

We don’t know about you, but we personally love Krkonoše. In the Krkonoše Mountains you just can’t go wrong – stunning nature of the national park, clean air and friendly locals. Just some of the reasons we always like to return.

As you can see, the hotel industry in the Czech Republic is growing at a rapid pace. The Krkonoše Mountains are no exception. You will find accommodation of all kinds and appropriate quality. But what we always value the most, and somehow warms our heart, is when we see that a successful business is passed down from generation to generation and everything in the process is approached with joy and love. That is exactly the case in today's story. When you arrive in Pec pod Sněžkou, the first thing you will see is crowds. Yes, it is a well-known fact, Pec is the second Špindl. In other words, whoever doesn’t want to climb up our highest mountain by foot, has to endure the long queue to the cable car found only in Pec. Do not despair and give in, however. Instead, walk right through the crowd of people and right under the cable car and take the forest path uphill. Believe us, it will be worth it! As you enter the woods, the crowds will fade away. At the end of your journey, peaceful and secluded, is a small paradise on earth – the Bouda Máma Wellness Hotel.

The history of family businesses is always interesting and often convoluted. Mr. and Mrs. Nikl bought a cottage that used to serve as a corporate cottage. The initial plan to rent out the entire building eventually fell through, giving way to the realization of their own dream. So the Bouda Máma was born. Today it is run by Vladimír, the Nikls’ son.

We sat down with Vladimír on the spacious terrace with a beautiful view. Following a delicious dessert, we also tasted the local mountain water sourced directly from the forest, which was exceptional. The local gastronomy won’t disappoint you. The hotel's restaurant offers honest Czech cuisine from Krkonoše. In the brewery next door, built by the Nikl family in 2017, you will also find their own pizzeria, which uses exclusively Italian ingredients in its creations.

The brewhouse is very pleasant, stylish and clean. Four kinds of beer are produced here and just looking around the space of the brewery made our mouths water. The local beer carries the trademarks of the Pecký Brewery and Pivo Sněžka. It is made using traditional methods and prides itself on high-quality Czech ingredients, especially on the already mentioned and acclaimed mountain water. Already our ancestors knew that beer rejuvenated from the outside, as well as the inside. That is why the hotel has prepared a beer spa for true beer lovers. You can not only bathe in the beer, but also consume it unlimitedly. What more could we ask for? The ideal relaxation after a long hike.

The environment of the hotel corresponds to the requirements of our time - to spend a holiday in the countryside, but with the appropriate level of service. The resort saw its first expansion in 2003 and a second one seven years later. You can stay in three-star rooms in the main building or in rooms of a four-star standard in a modern hotel dependency. Both buildings are connected by an underground corridor and everything you need is walking distance. Their wellness is also located underground. The hotel offers a wide range of treatments and spas, which can be appreciated in the winter, as well as in the summer. The dominant feature of the wellness is an ice fountain filled with crushed ice. But you can also enjoy their five saunas and a hot tub. You will be pleased to know that access to the wellness and fitness areas is included in the price.

The winter season is a guarantee of quality in the Krkonoše Mountains. You can ski right on the hotel's own ski slope, which is free for all hotel guests. A ski belt is available for children. Additionally, the hotel will lend you all the equipment you may need. They will also take you to the Pec pod Sněžkou - Černá hora SkiResort in their very own ski buses, free of charge.

The hotel also provides plenty of enjoyment in the summer. You can play tennis, volleyball, try the bobsled or go for a walk in the beautiful surroundings. Bouda Máma is a great starting point for Alpine hikes not only to Sněžka.

Needless to say, it was hard for us to leave this beautiful piece of nature behind. There are many hotels and cottages in Pec pod Sněžkou, but if you are looking for the right mountain atmosphere and a homely environment, we are sure you’ll feel right at home at the Máma Wellness Hotel.
