HOTEL INTERCONTINENTAL PRAGUE - A FIVE - STAR BRUTALIST GEM

In the heart of the main city, at the end of the most luxurious street, stands one of the greatest jewels of brutalist architecture in the Czech Republic. The iconic and world-renowned Hotel InterContinental, towering independently over the historical centre backdrop, enjoying a panoramic view of Prague and the majestic flow of the Vltava river.

You either love or hate the architecture of the InterContinental Prague, anything in between simply doesn’t do it justice. We personally fell in love with the InterContinental at first sight and the feelings we experienced during our visit can only be expressed as perfection.

Impeccable service, friendly and attentive staff, spectacular spaces and the ubiquitous feeling of luxury. Built in 1974 and designed by architect Karel Filsák, the hotel was and will always be one of the landmarks of Prague. Inside the hotel you will find so many works of art and design, you could easily assume you’re in a modern art gallery. The ever-present struggle between western style and the greyness of socialism is so glaring, it’s no wonder the InterContinental Prague is a sovereign winner over any other hotel constructed in this millennium.

The staff you will meet at the InterContinental Prague are well aware that they work in a hotel, which prioritizes the maximum comfort of its guests. Whether you are the president, a famous movie star or just enjoy the feeling of being in a place where you will be cared for with love and utmost care, you can rest assured that the InterContinental will fulfil all of your wishes, even those that you may not usually request.

The hotel has 372 spacious rooms, including 32 suites. The views from the rooms overlooking the river, garden or city invite you to explore the historic centre, walk along the waterfront or relax in the green surroundings of the nearby Letná Park. Before heading out, enjoy a delicious breakfast in the Primátor restaurant, renovated in 2012, with a capacity of 210 people. A wide selection of hot and cold dishes, desserts, fresh juices, coffee and tea are a five-star standard. A pleasant bonus is the selection at the Asian Corner. Furthermore, be sure to sweeten your tea with their honey, produced by bees kept on the roof of the hotel. A delightful start to the day is guaranteed.

If you are one to appreciate great food, do not miss a dinner at the Zlatá Praha Restaurant on the top floor of the hotel. The gastronomic experience paired with a magnificent view of the city will meet even the highest expectations. Every Sunday you can also enjoy an unforgettable brunch with friends. Book the Golden Prague restaurant for private events or weddings.

If you wish to relax after a busy day, we recommend that you visit the Health Club & Spa. You can swim in the saltwater pool, relax in the jacuzzi or recharge your batteries with a sauna or massage. If you want to stretch or stick to your workout plan, be sure to visit the fully equipped modern fitness centre. Hotel guests have free access to the Health Club & Spa.

If you want to organize the perfect conference or impress a business partner, the InterContinental Hotel offers over 1700 square meters of versatile conference space. Whether you choose rooms on the ground or top floor, expect the highest standard of service in all 14 rooms. That is the InterContinental way and so we were more than pleased to give the hotel’s representatives the award of the absolute winner of the Congress Hotel category in 2019.
